About UWS Radio
UWS Radio is a student-led station based at the University of the West of Scotland, creating music, conversation, local stories and original programming.
Our aim is to give people a platform to share their voices, develop media skills and celebrate the people, organisations and stories that make Ayrshire unique.
Who We Are
UWS Radio is created by students, but our community extends far beyond the University.
We are always looking to connect students with people across Ayrshire through radio, podcasts, interviews, local news, events and community-focused programming.
The station also gives students practical experience in presenting, producing, journalism, audio production, social media, video and podcasting.
Our Community
Ayrshire is at the heart of what we do.
We want to showcase local musicians, charities, businesses, sports clubs, community groups, creatives and people with interesting stories to tell.
Whether it is promoting an event, highlighting a local project or giving someone a chance to share their story, UWS Radio aims to be at the heart of the Ayrshire community.

I love all things film and tv, pop culture and having a good old time. I’m dedicated to bringing new light into the station, and showing the world what UWS has to offer!

At UWS, we believe the best radio comes from real people with a genuine passion for their community whether you want to share local stories, play your favourite tracks or just have a chat.
Our community is all about teamwork, fun, and getting voices like yours on the air!
No Experience? No Problem.
You don’t need a professional broadcasting voice, and you don’t need to know how to use a mixing desk. We provide full, friendly, hands-on training to get you comfortable behind the mic. If you bring the passion and the playlist, we’ll handle the tech. And once you feel comfortable you can start doing shows independently like our current talented volunteers.
Whether you want to try a one-off special or a regular weekly slot, we will work around your schedule.
